Introduction

At Raise The Stars, Tutors are the backbone of how students experience learning. You'll mentor Grades 5-12 through eight project-based AI-Proof tracks, including engineering, AI, robotics, biotech, creative arts, and the industrial trades. You will be guiding small cohorts through real, above-grade-level work rather than worksheets. Working as an expert Tutor means combining subject expertise with genuine care for young people, on a schedule you set - at a competitive, above market rate.

  • Run 1:1 or groups of 2-5 sessions with students enrolled in Raise The Stars tracks
  • Guide students through signature projects and above-grade-level milestones
  • Provide written feedback, track progress, and communicate with parents
  • Contribute your own subject expertise, examples, and industry perspective
  • Uphold our safety, safeguarding, and code-of-conduct standards on every session

Required education & skills

  • Post-secondary background (degree or active study) in a STEM, creative, or skilled-trades field
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English
  • Willingness to complete a background check

Preferred education & skills

  • Experience with project-based or inquiry-based teaching methods
  • Prior experience mentoring, tutoring, coaching, or teaching young learners
  • Industry experience (engineering, research, design, trades, etc.)
  • Additional languages spoken at home by Canadian families
